What is OWSC?
One World Strong Cameroon (OWSC) is a civil society organization incorporated under Cameroonian law and the representative in Cameroon and the Sahelian region of Africa of the American NGO One World Strong Foundation (OWSF). OWSC is headquartered in Maroua, the capital of Cameroon's Far North region.

OWSC intends to position itself as a major player in promoting human diplomacy as a vector for peace and peaceful relations between individuals and human groups in the service of sustainable development in Cameroon and the Sahel. To achieve its vision, OWSC intends to set up institutional and functional mechanisms to promote human diplomacy, contributing to the full realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), etc.
It will do its utmost to benefit from the institutional and technical support of the government through its various state bodies, international organizations, think tanks, national and international NGOs and CSOs, and all other stakeholders.
Our VISION is that more peaceful social relations are the basis for sustainable development and positive change in our society.
Our MISSION is to promote human diplomacy in all social relations in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our MANDATE is to catalyze peace, security and development processes in Cameroon and the Sahel, and to enable social groups to carry out development initiatives.
Creation & Background
With the sponsorship of Dave Fortier, President and Founder of One World Strong Foundation (OWSF), OWSC was created in Cameroon in 2021 by its promoter, ZAMBO Régis Gael, a member of the Advisory Board of OWSF.
We believe in a society where harmonious human relations thrive and where individuals take on community leadership roles and cultivate the principles of sustainable development. To achieve this, it is important to cultivate tolerance, fraternity, and solidarity in social relations in order to have successful common projects. With this in mind, the promotion of human diplomacy through its functional mechanisms contributes effectively to preventing and combating violent extremism to make way for sustainable development.

OWSC intends to benefit from the sponsorship and network of partners within One World Strong Foundation (OWSF) to achieve its short-, medium--, and long-term objectives. It will also be able to count on its local and national network of partners.
To effectively achieve our objectives, we have a qualified team at both strategic and operational levels, eager to contribute their know-how to the implementation of OWSC's vision. In addition to OWSF's institutional and technical sponsorship, we have a Board of Directors and an Advisory Board, both of which play a decisive role in choosing and directing the strategic orientations of our actions. Various administrative, accounting, financial, and standard operating procedure (SOP) documents and manuals are available to ensure that management complies with commonly accepted standards.
Strategic Intiatives
Education
The OWSC has initiated several programs and projects aimed at addressing and mitigating extremist violence through an educational approach.
These include an education project focused on prevention and combatting such violence, as well as high-level stakeholder dialogues aimed at empowering youth affected by violent extremism in Cameroon.
Additionally, an evaluation workshop was conducted to assess the protection of children in the context of violent extremism, particularly in the Far North region of Cameroon. Furthermore, a workshop was held to commemorate the International Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism, highlighting the importance of recognition and support for those impacted by these issues.
Connection
OWSC has outlined a series of programs and projects focused on enhancing connections and communication.
These initiatives include strategic communication aimed at promoting peace, as exemplified by the “Dear World, My Words” campaign, which highlights success stories. Another initiative, titled “Let’s Talk About the Change We Need,” focuses on engaging communities in discussions about necessary transformations.
Additionally, OWSF is organizing inter-community dialogue sessions centered on peace and coexistence, as well as a campaign to combat hate speech. A regional conference will also take place, addressing solutions for youth entrepreneurship in the Lake Chad Basin, along with intergenerational dialogue sessions to foster understanding across age groups.
Resilience
OWSC is dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities and fostering meaningful connections to build resilience within their community. One of their initiatives is the Community Resilience Program (COREP), which is designed to strengthen the bonds among community members.
OWSC emphasizes peace education, actively working to combat hate speech and promote resilience in schools. Their initiative, "Positive Words for a Strong World," seeks to instill values of empathy, respect, and dialogue among students, aiming to create a more inclusive and harmonious educational environment.
Another significant undertaking by OWSC is the "Butterfly Project," which advocates for human diplomacy and sustainable development within the Lake Chad Basin region.
